North-Central APC Forum Urges President Tinubu to Stop Granting Audience to Opposition Governors

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has advised President Bola Tinubu to cease giving audiences to governors from opposition parties who, according to the forum, harass and intimidate APC members in their states.

In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Chairman Alhaji Salleh Zazzaga, the forum said President Tinubu and his inner circle should "stop entertaining" these governors as they do not have the President's or APC’s best interests at heart.

Though unnamed, the statement is widely perceived as referring to opposition governors such as Ademola Adeleke (Osun State, PDP), Chukwuma Soludo (Anambra State, APGA), and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau State, PDP), all of whom reportedly enjoy access to the President.

The forum accused these governors of pretending loyalty when meeting Tinubu but undermining the APC by harassing party members, using state machinery to frustrate their businesses, and even targeting their properties with demolitions.

The statement expressed concern that such conduct demoralizes APC members, particularly in opposition-led states in the North-Central region, and warned against the false impression that President Tinubu supports these victimizations.

The forum urged Tinubu to focus on his party members and withdraw unmerited privileges granted to these opposition governors, advising them to either defect to the APC or stop working against it behind the President’s back.

With off-cycle elections approaching in opposition states, the forum stressed that the President should prioritize the APC's growth and marshal efforts to protect loyal party members.
